イギリス留学　まさか？！の出来事

イギリス留学を満喫中の生徒ですが、先日、まさか・・・と思う出来事があったとの事で報告を貰いました。
それはなんと、ぼったくり・・・！！

海外、とくにヨーロッパ圏では良くあるのですが、低所得者の人や一部の若者が
自分の生活費やお小遣いを不当に稼ぐために、本来の値段よりも高値で物を売りつける事が有ります。
先日の学校の帰り道、なんと生徒は一般的な雑誌を30ポンドでかってしまったそうです・・・！！！

生徒からの詳細です：
Today I’m going tell you about the tragedy that happened to me.
A week ago when I was walking home from school a man walked up to me and asked me to buy a magazine which
I had seen before in a book shop. Unfortunately, I didn’t remember how much it was so I asked him how much is it.
Then he said “anything would be ok “ so I said “10 pounds please “ but he said to me “no no,20 30 please because it’s charity.”
So I paid 30 pounds and bought it. After I got home my host mother asked me where did you buy it ,
when I was reading the magazine. So I told her what happened to me. After I told her about that she said to me a man
ripped me off because this magazine is 5pounds.Then I thought that I shouldn’t have bought it because now,
I regret buying it. I have to be more careful from now on.

なんと、5ポンドの雑誌が30ポンドに・・・
お家にもどり、ホストマザーに『それはぼったくられたのよ！』と言われなかったら分からなかったですね。。。
平和な日本に居たら有り得ない事態ですが、海外では時々こういう事も有ります。
生徒には、今後はしっかり気を付けて注意するように！怪しいと思ったらむやみに金品を渡したらダメ！とつたえましたが、いやはや・・・

海外は日本とは事情が違うため、ホームレスの方々に親切にする方が多く、ホームレスのためのボランティアなどもあります。
ただ、今回のケースはホームレスの方が行っているわけでは無く、話を聞く限りちょっと悪質でした・・・

かなり高い買い物になってしまいましたが、生徒曰く、良い教訓になったとのこと。。。
落ち込んでばかりもいられないので、30ポンド分、雑誌を読みまくって英語の勉強につなげて欲しいものです。
